| Abstract | Unidades de conservação de proteção integral buscam a manutenção dos ecossistemas livres de alterações causadas por interferência humana, admitindo apenas o uso indireto de seus recursos naturais. Portanto, este trabalho estudou a dinâmica do uso e cobertura da terra na unidade de conservação de proteção integral Parque Estadual Monte Alegre (PEMA) do município de Monte Alegre (PA), bem como sua respectiva Zona de Amortecimento, para avaliar a efetividade de sua criação como iniciativa de preservação da biodiversidade local. Foram avaliados produtos de sensoriamento remoto dos anos de 1990, 2001 e 2011, sendo 2001 o ano de criação da unidade em estudo. O resultado permite afirmar que a criação da unidade de conservação PEMA foi importante, uma vez que ao observar dados referentes a dez anos de unidade percebe-se a diminuição do desflorestamento quando comparado ao período anterior à sua implantação. Porém, do ponto de vista conservacionista, tal resultado não é satisfatório, já que fatores que ameaçam a integridade biológica das áreas protegidas não deveriam ocorrer após sua criação. Medidas de proteção mais adequadas devem ser tomadas visando atingir o objetivo da unidade de conservação. ABSTRACT: Conservation units of integral protection aim to maintain ecosystems free from changes caused by human interference, allowing only the indirect use of their natural resources. Therefore, this work studied the dynamics of the land use and coverage in the conservation unit of integral protection Monte Alegre State Park (PEMA) in the municipality of Monte Alegre (PA), as well as, its buffer zone, to evaluate the effectiveness of its creation as an initiative to preserve the local biodiversity. We evaluated remote sensing products for the years 1990, 2001 and 2011, being 2001 the year of establishment of the unit under study. The result have revealed that the creation of protected PEMA was important, for when observing data from 10 years of the unitys existence one notices a reduction of deforestation compared to the period before its implementation. However, from a conservationist point of view, this result is not satisfactory, since factors that threaten the biological integrity of protected areas should not occur after its creation. More appropriate protection measures should be taken in order to achieve the conservation unit goal. |
